SHE RISE CONFERENCE

At the end of the program, there will be a general conference where both participants and non-participants come together share their experiences and build networks.

Speakers shall include His Excellency Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Her Excellency Patience Eno The Consul General of the United States Consulate, Mr. Will Stevens, representative from Washington, United Nations representative, established women in politics, etc.

The conference is aimed at giving women the opportunity to build stronger intra-gender ties as the practical sessions transcends the training and conference periods.

THE ENGAGEMENT

After the training, HERLEAD women who do not belong to any political party will be

encouraged and supported to expand the scope of their influence by deliberately joining a political party of their choice.

At party levels, HERLEAD women will be encouraged and positioned for more commitment in their political parties which will lead to commendation and recommendations. This will also position them for strategic positions in politics and governance.

WE KEEP BUILDING

Virtual support group via WhatsApp and Facebook shall be created to enable beneficiaries to continually interact and learn from one another, even after the conclusion of the program.

Participants are also grouped into smaller groups where elective positions are created and contested for. This gives room for continued practice within the network.

By taking this approach, participants are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to become effective leaders in politics and governance.

We anticipate the following outcomes at the end of the project duration due to the implemented activities:

  • Increased awareness among women of their unique power and significance in building and sustaining a strong and vibrant democracy.
  • Improvement in gender equality, which translates to a wide range of policy changes and types of proposed solutions.
  • More women supporting each other in public offices and other fields, leading to greater solidarity among women.
  • Increased participation of women in politics and governance through elective positions.
  • More women becoming qualified for political appointments.
  • Positive attitude and performance changes in women who undergo the mentoring/sensitization program, both at home and in their political circles.
  • Women with the support of mentors/coaches being able to create networks of support that reach out to other women, providing leadership, support and information within their circle of influence.

Reduced instances of vulnerability and marginalization of women at all levels of governance, including local, state and national levels
